Joseph B. Leonard

Joseph B. Leonard was named interim chief executive officer of Walter Energy in March 2010. He has been a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since February 1, 2009. Mr. Leonard was Chairman of AirTran Holdings, Inc., an airline holding company, from November 2007 to June 2008. From January 1999 through November 2007, Mr. Leonard served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AirTran Holdings, Inc. Prior thereto Mr. Leonard served as President of AirTran Holdings, Inc. Mr. Leonard is also a director of Air Canada and Mueller Water Products, Inc.

George R. Richmond

Richmond joined the Company in 1978 and held various positions at Jim Walter Resources prior to becoming President and Chief Operating Officer of Jim Walter Resources in 1997. Richmond was named Chief Executive Officer of Jim Walter Resources in February 2006 and has also been a director of the Company since December 2006.

Charles C. Stewart

Walter Coke

Charles C. Stewart is president of Walter Minerals and Walter Coke. Prior to his role at Walter Coke, Stewart served as vice president, engineering, and as an associate engineer for Jim Walter Resources. He joined the Company in 1978.

Miles C. Dearden, III
Senior Vice President, Treasurer
Walter Energy, Inc.

Miles C. Dearden was appointed senior vice president in February 2005 and vice president, treasurer in April 2002. Previously, he was assistant treasurer beginning in March 2001. Prior to joining the Company, he worked for Bank of America from 1987 until 2001, most recently as a managing director for the bank’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank.

Lisa A. Honnold

Lisa A. Honnold was appointed senior vice president, controller of the Company in March 2006. Honnold had previously served as vice president of corporate accounting for the Company since December 2005. Prior to joining the Company, Honnold was vice president, corporate controller of Catalina Marketing Corporation from December 2004 to November 2005, holding the previous title of assistant controller since November 2003. From 1996 to November 2003, Honnold held various positions with NACCO Industries, Inc., last serving as manager of financial reporting and analysis.

Michael T. Madden
Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Walter Energy, Inc.

Michael T. Madden was named Sr. Vice President – Sales & Marketing in March 2010. He has been with the Company since 1997, most recently serving as vice president - marketing, transportation and quality control for the Company’s primary subsidiary, Jim Walter Resources.

Prior to joining Walter Energy, Madden held various management positions in the coal industry for both the domestic and export markets from 1974 through 1996.

He is a member of the National Mining Association; the Alabama Coal Association; the Coal Trade Association of New York; and has served as a Director of the Coal Exporters Association.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY.

Keith M. Shull

Walter Energy, Inc.

Keith M. Shull was named Sr. Vice President – Human Resources in January 2010. He is responsible for leadership of the company’s benefits, compensation, employment, industrial relations, payroll, aviation, organizational development and administrative services departments. Shull joined Walter Energy from Arrow Electronics, where he was Senior Vice President, Human Resources from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that appointment, he served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for BHP Billiton’s Base Metals and Petroleum business groups from 1996 to 2004.

Catherine C. Bona
Vice President, Interim General Counsel and Secretary
Walter Energy, Inc.

Catherine C. Bona was appointed vice president, interim general counsel and secretary for the Company in March 2010. She had previously served as vice president, assistant general counsel and secretary and has been with the Company since 1995. She holds a law degree from St. Johns University School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and is a member of the Florida, New York and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations. She also holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals.

Ronald L. Loida
Vice President, Internal Audit
Walter Energy, Inc.

Ronald L. Loida was appointed vice president, accounting compliance for the Company in September 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Loida was senior manager for internal audit services at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Additionally he held a management position at Ernst & Young, LLP and director of retirement plan operations at PFPC.

Billy R. Philbeck

Billy R. Philbeck was appointed vice president, risk management for the Company in September 2004. Additionally, he holds the position of vice president and chief operating officer of Cardem Insurance Co. and the operation of Best Insuror’s, Inc.

Mark H. Tubb
Vice President, Investor Relations and Strategic Planning
Walter Energy, Inc.

Mark H. Tubb was appointed vice president, investor relations and strategic planning for the Company in August 2006. Tubb most recently was vice president, planning and corporate communications and also served as director-strategic planning and analysis. Prior thereto, he was vice president-investor relations with Intermedia Communications.
